Choosing the right vehicle for your DTW transfer
Most airport trips come down to two numbers: how many people are travelling, and how many bags are coming with them. A couple flying out of McNamara with two suitcases is a sedan job. The same couple collecting family at the curb, with four more cases, is an SUV job. Getting this right on the booking form is the difference between a smooth curbside pickup and a chauffeur playing luggage tetris at 5 a.m.
As a rule of thumb: sedan for one to three passengers with normal luggage, full-size SUV for four to six or for anyone with skis, golf clubs or oversized cases, and Sprinter van once you pass six people or need genuine standing-height loading. Above ten passengers you are into mini van, mini bus and motor coach territory, which we quote per vehicle rather than per seat.

What is included in every DTW Taxi ride
The rate you are quoted covers the vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, tolls on the standard route and Michigan sales tax. Airport pickups add a flat $19.99 airport pickup fee, which is shown as its own line on your quote before you book — never added afterwards.

Luggage and group size, without the guesswork
Passenger capacity and luggage capacity are not the same number, and that trips people up. A sedan seats three comfortably but realistically carries three full-size cases; put three passengers and five cases in it and someone is holding a bag on their lap to the airport.
Our Sprinter vans are the workhorse of the fleet for exactly this reason. High roof, wide sliding door, and a rear cargo area that swallows ten or more cases without anyone rearranging the seating. For sports teams, church groups, wedding parties and corporate offsites, the mini bus and motor coach carry the luggage underneath the floor, so the cabin stays clear.
Travelling with a wheelchair? Our ADA-accessible buses are lift-equipped with proper securement points. Please book these ahead where possible so we can confirm the right vehicle is free on your date rather than at short notice.
Booking, flight tracking and the day itself
Reserve online in about sixty seconds or call dispatch directly. You will get a written confirmation with your vehicle, your flat rate and your pickup window. A submitted booking is a request until we confirm availability, which is normally within the hour.
For departures, we recommend leaving three hours before an international flight and two before a domestic one from most of Metro Detroit, and we will advise if your suburb or the time of day needs more. For arrivals, give us your flight number: we watch it, and we adjust your pickup automatically if you land late. You are not charged waiting time for an airline delay.
On the day, your chauffeur texts on approach. Curbside pickup at McNamara or the North Terminal is standard; meet-and-greet at baggage claim is available if you prefer. Payment is at the time of service by cash, card, or a card held on file — whichever suits.

Before you book
A full-size SUV. It seats up to six and takes six full-size cases, so four passengers with a case each travel comfortably with room to spare. A sedan seats three and realistically carries three bags, so four people with luggage will be tight.
Per vehicle. Your flat rate covers the whole vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel and tolls on the standard route, plus Michigan sales tax and the $19.99 airport pickup fee on airport runs. Adding a passenger does not change the price as long as you stay within the vehicle capacity.
Nothing on your end. Give us your flight number when you book and we track it live. If you land late we move your pickup automatically, and you are not charged waiting time for an airline delay.
Yes. Our ADA-accessible buses are lift-equipped with proper wheelchair securement points. Please book ahead where you can so we can guarantee an accessible vehicle is free on your date and time.
Yes. Mini vans carry 14 to 22, mini buses 24 to 35, and motor coaches 49 to 57 passengers with a full under-floor luggage bay. For very large movements we run multiple vehicles on a coordinated schedule so the whole group arrives together.
Yes, on request. Tell us the number and ages of children when you book so the correct seats are fitted before the chauffeur leaves for you. There is a small charge per seat, which appears on your quote.
